Adults Programs
The Islamic Center of Blacksburg offers Quran recitation halaqas, discussions groups open to the community at large. These halaqas will be held weekly at Masjid Al-Hedaya on Saturday After Almaghreb Prayer, Insha Allah.
"On the day of resurrection the Quran will petition Allah to cloak the one who was a companion of the Quran [reciting it often] with garments of honor and respect. A crown of honor will then be placed on the head of the reciter. The Quran will then petition Allah to shower His pleasure on the reciter. Allah will then become pleased with him. The reciter will then be asked to recite the Quran, thereby attaining higher ranks of elevation. In reward for each aayah, a good deed will be given to him." [At-Tirmidhi and Ibn Maaja]
The Quran is the final revealed Book of Allah and the wellbeing of the entire humanity depends upon following the guidance of Quran. In other words, success in this world as well as the Hereafter lies in the Quran. Therefore, it's a must for us to read it according to the Tajweed rules.
What is Tajweed?
The word "Tajweed" means to improve, make better. Tajweed of the Holy Quran is the knowledge and application of the rules of recitation so the reading of the Quran is as the Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him, recited.

Allah says in surat Aal-i-Imraan "By no means shall you attain righteousness unless you give (freely) of that which you love; and whatever you give, of a truth Allah knows it well." (92)
Thus, helping to reinforce this orientation of weekly meetings with our families in a constructive activity, we encourage you to save some of your valuable time to meet with us each week at the Masjid.
