Assalamu alaikum wa ra7matullahi wa baraktuhu

Say the following in Arabic:

“Inn al 7amda lillah, na7maduhu wa nasta3eenoho wa nsatahdeehy wa nastaghfiruh, wa no2menu bihi wa natawakkalu 3alayh. Wa na3oothu billah ta3ala men shuroor anfusina wa sayyia2at a3malina. Man yahdihi ALLAH fala mudilla lah wa man yudlil fala hadiya lah, wa man lam yaj3ala allahu lahu nooran fama lahu mennoor”

“Wa nashhadu alla ilaha illa alah wa7dahu la shareeka lah wa nashhadu anna mu7ammadan 3abduhu wa rasooloh, ballagha al risala wa adda el aman, wa nasa7a al umma, wa kashafa allahu behe ul ghumma wa jahada fillaha 7aqqa jihadihi 7atta atahu el yaqeen, wa tarakana 3alla el ma7ajjatil baida2 lailuha kanahariha la yazeegh 3anha illa halik

ALLAH(swt) says in the holy quran:

{O you who believe! Fear Allaah as he should be feared and die not except as muslims}

{O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person, and from him He created his wife, and from them both He created many men and women, and fear Allah through Whom you demand your mutual rights, and (do not cut the relations of) the wombs (kinship) surely, Allah is forever an All-Watcher over you}

{O you who believe! Fear Allah and do not utter but straight forward speech so that HE will direct you to righteous deeds and forgive your sins. And whosoever obeys Allah and His messenger has indeed achieved a great achievement}

Say This is in English

All praise is due to ALLAH(swt), we praise him seek his help and forgiveness, and we seek refuge in him from the evils of our selves and our bad deeds, whomsoever ALLAH guides he is truly guided, and whomsoever HE misguides no helpers can guide him to the straight path. True light and guidance is one which comes from ALLAH(swt) alone.

We bear witness that there is no god but ALLAH and that Muhammad(saws) is his slave and messenger, we bear witness that he has fulfilled the duty of delivering the message of Islam, and has set the exemplary struggle for the sake of that message, and has left us with the complete and final code of life that pleases our creator, whomsoever strays from it is in true loss.

The beginning of Surah Al 7adeed starts with the following opening:

ALLAH(swt) says in the first ayah of surah al hadeed

}سَبَّحَ لِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ‌ۖ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ{

Translation

{All that is in the heavens and the earth glorifieth Allah; and He is the Mighty, the Wise}.

Surah Hadeed is considered one of the surahs in the Quran that are known as the musabbi7at, or the surahs that start by Tasbee7(Praise) and Glorification of ALLAH. So what is the purpose of this excessive glorification and praise that we find in these suwar, “Does ALLAH like to hear this and he benefits somehow from it”

حاشاه وتعالى عن ذلك سبحانه

ALLAH is beyond any need of such sort

In addition to being a good deed that will be rewarded by ALLAH(swt), it is an act of remembrance of ALLAH(swt) in a manner most appropriate of his mention. The other importance of this is that it orients us put in the right state of mind so we can appreciate the words of the speaker, ALLAH(swt). It puts you in a state of humility and softens your heart to accept the words of ALLAH.

So inshallah, for the sake of change, today’s khutbah will have a sort of poetic style which is different than style that you might be used to from me. But there is a reason behind this, For in this deen we have a balance between the needs of the mind and the heart, the intellect and the emotions. Todays khutbah will be an exercise for our hearts to get in touch with ALLAH(swt) majesty and his greatness. We follow the approach and take the advice of ALLAH(swt) that he mentions in this very same surah, ayah 16

} أَلَمۡ يَأۡنِ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ أَن تَخۡشَعَ قُلُوبُہُمۡ لِذِڪۡرِ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا نَزَلَ مِنَ ٱلۡحَقِّ وَلَا يَكُونُواْ كَٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ مِن قَبۡلُ فَطَالَ عَلَيۡہِمُ ٱلۡأَمَدُ فَقَسَتۡ قُلُوبُہُمۡ‌ۖ وَكَثِيرٌ۬ مِّنۡہُمۡ فَـٰسِقُونَ{

{Has not the time arrived for the Believers that their hearts in all humility should engage in the remembrance of Allah and of the Truth which has been revealed (to them), and that they should not become like those to whom was given Revelation aforetime, but long ages passed over them and their hearts grew hard? For many among them are rebellious transgressors.}

And brother and sisters beware of underestimating the importance of the heart and the emotional understanding, this can take an entire khutbah by itself but it suffices to say what ALLAH has

So this ayah is telling us that it is important to have regular check on our hearts like regular maintenance otherwise with time if left without the right does of remembrance of ALLAH it will grow heard.

To show you the importance of the understanding of the heart for as human beings, consider the impact of parables and wise statements how we find very profound and deep as opposed to just cold facts and statements. In fact this is the style of ALLAH(swt) used in his holy book where he says

}وتلك الأمثال نضربها للناس لعلهم يتفكرون{ .

{Such examples and parables we put forth for people so that they can reflect }

In other words parables carry depth of meaning, and the more you examine the parable and reflect on it and the more the understanding you develop. You can think of it as sort of a multiple layer of meaning the more you dig deeper the more your understanding.

In more precise terms you can think of it this way, one parable can carry it a huge amount of meaning and information and it is naturally appealing to the human mind.

This also helps appreciate the style of parables in the words of ALLAH (swt).

But there is no likeness unto ALLAH { ولله المثل الاعلى } and he is beyond all comparison. قال تعالى: "سَبَّحَ لِلَّهِ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ (1)" (الحديد:1)	57:1 Whatever is in the heavens and on earth,- let it declare the Praises and Glory of Allah. For He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise. (iron: 1)
نعم سبح لله وعظم قدره وتحدث بعظمته كل ما في السماوات والأرض	Yes glorified Allah and revealed His greatness all and everything in the heavens and in the earth
نعم نطق كل جمادٍ وكل شيءٍ حيٍّ بقدرة الخالق وإبداعه	Yes all and every living thing and all and every lifeless inanimate spoke to His unlimited Abilities and Perfection
نعم شهدت كل الخلائق كبيرها وصغيرها، حيها وميتها بعظيم صنعه وبديع خلقه	Yes, testified to His Glory and to His perfect creation all creations; large and small, alive and lifeless.
سبحانه – لا إله إلا هو الخالق المصور	Glory be to Him - there is no god but He, the Creator, the Fashioner of Forms
هذا هو الله خالق هذا الكون كله...	This is Allah the Creator of this entire universe ...

“This is the appropriate introduction to WHO ALLAH is”. Now let us appreciate him swt better by considering his magnificent acts
هو خلق الإنسان - خلق الحيوان - خلق النبات - خلق الطير وما في البحار	He created humankind, created the Animals, created the plants, created the birds, and created what is in the seas.
خلق السماوات والأرض - خلق الجبال وخلق الأنهار	Created the heavens and the Earth, created the mountains and the rivers
خلق كل كبيرة وصغيرة ... من الذرة وثناياها إلى الكواكب والأفلاك وما شملها واحتواها	He Created all big and small ... from the atom and its details and sub-particles to the planets and the universe, and what it contains and encompasses.
خلق ما نعلم منها وما لا نعلم	He created what we know and what we do not know
كلٌّ يسبح له ويخضع لإرادته ويعمل طبقاً لتخطيطه ولا يخرج عن طاعته	Each and every glorify him and are subject to his control and functions according to the specifications and planning that Allah willed for them and never disobey Him or depart from Allah’s will and control.
كلُّ ذرةٍ وما دونها تخضع لقدرة الله ونظامه	Each atom and whatever is smaller are subject to the power of Allah and his regime
كل مادةٍ وكل جمادٍ يطابق ما خصص الله له من خصائص ومواصفات	Each and every inanimate material and lifeless objects comply with the characteristics and specifications that Allah has determined for them.
كلُّ نباتٍ وكلُّ حيوان يكون أو لا يكون حسب تخطيط الخالق وإرادته	Every plant and every animal becomes or not becomes according to the Creator’s planning and His Will.
الأرض والسماوات تسير وفقاً لمنهاج الله وسنته	The earth and the heavens all function according to the system for Allah and His Laws
كلٌّ يسبح بحمده وينطق بقدرته	All praise His Glory and utter His Ability.
STOP
ففي طلوع الشمس وغروبها تسبيح لله	In the sunrise and sunset is a praise of Allah’s Glory and Greatness.
وفي سير الرياح وهبوب العواصف تسبيحٌ لله	As the wind blows and storms blast. That too is a praise of Allah’s Glory and Greatness.
وفي سقوط الأمطار وتراكم الثلوج تسبيحٌ لله	In the fall of rain and the accumulation of snow is a praise of Allah’s Glory and Greatness.
وفي تمدد المعادن بالحرارة وانكماشها بالبرودة تسبيحٌ لله	In the expansion and contraction metals due to hot cold temperatures is a praise of Allah’s Glory and Greatness.
وفى نمو الشجر من البذرة وطلوع الثمرة تسبيحٌ لله	In the growth of trees from seeds and producing flowers and fruits is a praise of Allah’s Glory and Greatness.
وفى نبض قلوبنا وسريان الدم في عروقنا تسبيحٌ لله	In the pulse of our hearts and the flow of blood in our veins is a praise of Allah’s Glory and Greatness.
خلقٌ بديع بلغ في الإتقان مداه	Exquisite creations that are of the most fineness and Perfection
خلقٌ متناسقٌ متكاملٌ - بلغ في الكمال غايته	Creations that are most harmonious, most holistic, most thorough, and most integrated
هذا هو الله خالقنا - هذا هو الله حافظنا- هذا هو الله رازقنا- وهو الله مميتنا- وهو الله معيدنا- وهو الله باعثنا	This is Allah our Creator - this is Allah our preserver - this is Allah our sustainer - to Him we will return and to Him we will be resurrected and before Him we will be judged
TRANSLATE “Out of all his creation ALLAH(swt) has chosen and dignified mankind and put all of his creation to the their service but very few are those who show gratitude” To understand and appreciate the magnitude of the bounties and blessings of ALLAH upon us
سخر لنا الشمس والقمر وسخر لنا الليل والنهار... سخر لنا من سائر خلقه ما نأكل وما نلبس وما نلهو به وما نركب	He has made the sun and the moon subjects to us and to serve us as he did also the night and day ... He provided to us from his creations what eat, what we wear, what we ride and what we play with and enjoy
فغمرتنا نعمه - وفاض علينا خيره وبركته - وأعطانا من حيث لا نحتسب	His bounties engulfed us - and His overwhelming goodness and blessings overflowed our lives – and He giving is far beyond our calculations and predictions.
ومن عظمته أن بين لنا الحق والباطل ووضح لنا الشر والخير وأرسل لنا من كتبه ورسله ما نهتدى به ونقتدى بقدوته وأعطانا الخيار فمنا من شكر ومنا من كفر	It is his greatness that made clear to us both right and wrong, and enlightened us about good and evil and sent us from his books and his apostles what guides us and to be our example and ideal and He gave us the will and the option. Some of us chose to submit and be thankful and others chose to reject Him and be Kafir.
فمنا من اهتدى ومنا من ضل - ومنا من أطاع ومنا من عصى	Among us who followed His guidance and among us who strayed. Among us are those who obeyed and among us are those who disobeyed.
سبحانه من خالقٍ عظيمٍ... بيده كلُّ شيءٍ	Glory be to Him the Ultimate and Greatest Creator. His command encompasses all and everything
إِنَّمَآ أَمۡرُهُ ۥۤ إِذَآ أَرَادَ شَيۡـًٔا أَن يَقُولَ لَهُ ۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ (يس:82)	36:82 Verily, when He intends a thing, His Command is, "be", and it is!
ومع ذلك ترك لنا خياراً وترك لنا إرادة وما هذا إلا دليلُ عظمته ودليل قدرته	However, He left us to choose… and He gave us a will. In that is a proof and a sign of his Greatness and his Powers
ترك لنا حق معصيته بل وترك لنا حق الكفر به ( والعياذ بالله)	He allowed us the right to disobey Him and even allowed for us to disbelieve in Him (Allah forbid)
ــ تأملوا معى أخوة الإيمان والإسلام رؤساء وملوك وقيادات لا تترك إرادة أو تسمح باختيارٍ...	We look around to see presidents and kings and leaders who never allowed for the will of people or left them a choice...
لم تخلق ولم ترزق ولم تعطى ولم تُسخِّر- وتسلب الإرادة وتحرم الاختيار...	They did not create and did not provide – they did not give bounties and did not facilitate subjects Yet, they rob people’s freedom, will, and deny them their right to choose...
وخالق الكون كله- يسمح لنا أن نعصيه	While the Creator of the universe allows us to disobey Him.

Aqoolo Qawli Hatha wa astaghfirullaha al athima lee wa lakum fa istaghfiruh innahu huwa al ghafooro ra7im

Break

ــ سبحانه جلًّ شأنه... بيده ناصية كل الأمور ويترك لنا الخيار ويسمح لنا بالارادة	Almighty ALLAH may he be glorified has in his hands the command of all things but has granted us the free will
ــ ينطق اللسان بالكفر والله قادرٌ أن يسكته، بل قادرٌ أن يجبره على الطاعة والاستسلام ولكنه جلَّ شأنه ما كان ليسلبنا حق الاختيار	A person’s Tongue utters disbelief and it is easy for Allah to silence it let alone make it submit and comply but our his greatness he gave us the free will to do as we please
ــ وسبحان الله.. ذات اللسان الذى ينطق بالكفر مازال خلقاً من خلق الله.. يعمل حسب ارادته ووفقاً لنظامه.	And that same tongue that utters blasphemy it is a creation of ALLAH that is subservient to his will and command and in blaspheming is still within the order and plan of ALLAH.
ماأظلمك أيها الإنسان وماأجهلك!!	How ignorant and unaware O human is of ALLAH’s mercy and patience?
يسرق الإنسان.. وبما يسرق.. بيدٍ هى من صنع الله وتسبح لله.. ويسيرإلى جريمةٍ برجلان هما من صنع الله .. ويسبحان لله .. ويخطط لسرقته بعقلٍ هو من خلق الله.. ويسبح لله ..	A person steals and using what?... his hands that are one of ALLAH’s creation and are subservient to his will. He walks to crime using what?.. his legs which are also an obedient creation of ALLAH. And all that he plans and plots with his brain that is a creation of ALLAH
نعم سَبَّحَ لِلَّهِ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ..	Yes Whatever is in the heavens and the earth glorifies and is obedience to ALLAH
TRANSLATE
فهل سبحت إرادتك أيها الإنسان؟!	So, O man!!, has your free will submitted to god?
هل استسلمتَ وسلمتَ أيها الغافل الظالم؟!	O unjust man!, have attained Islam and submission to ALLAH?
هل أسلمت إرادتك للخالق الذى بيده حياتك ومماتك؟!	Have you realized ALLAH’s mercy and his power over you?
هل حمدت وهل شكرت- وهل أطعت؟!	Have you given him his due gratitiude?
وصدق الله العظيم إذ يقول:( إِنَّ ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنَ لِرَبِّهِۦ لَكَنُودٌ۬ (العاديات :6)	ALLAH says in surah Adiyat “Man is, indeed, very ungrateful to his Lord, (6) And he himself is a witness to that fact, (7) And in his love for wealth, he is very intense.”
نعصى الله فى كلِّ وقتٍ وحينٍ ونسىءُ استخدام ذات الحرية التى منحنا إياها.	We disobey Allah in all times and abuse the freedom that has given us.
ووالله ما جرؤنا أن نفعل ذلك مع ملوك الأرض! فكيف بنا نتطاول ونتجرأ على ملك الملوك- مالك الملك- مالك السماوات والأرض؟!	By Allah, we do not dare to disobey the kings of this earth! Then how is it that we dare disobey the king of kings?
نعم نعصى الله ونخالف تعاليمه فى كل وقتٍ وحينٍ. ولانتجرؤ على عصيان رئيسٍ أو حاكمٍ أرضىٍّ.	But we disobey ALLAH constantly and go against his commands and we cannot do half of that for the slightest ruler?
نعمل ألف حسابٍ لشرطىّ المرور فلا نخالف فى حضرته وهانحن نخالف خالقنا الذى يرانا فى كل وقتٍ وحينٍ- بل يعلم ما توسوس به أنفسنا. إذ يقول سبحانه وتعالى :" وَلَقَدۡ خَلَقۡنَا ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنَ وَنَعۡلَمُ مَا تُوَسۡوِسُ بِهِۦ نَفۡسُهُ ۥ‌ۖ وَنَحۡنُ أَقۡرَبُ إِلَيۡهِ مِنۡ حَبۡلِ ٱلۡوَرِيدِ ( سورة ق: 16)	We watch out for a police officer and in his presence we can’t think of breaking the law. But we disobey our creator who is constantly watching over us and is knowledgeable of our hidden secrets “And we have created man and we know what whispers in his heart and we are closer to him than his jugular vein”
ما أعظمه من خالقٍ وما اظلمنا وما أجهلنا من عصاةٍ!	This shows us the greatness of ALLAH and how we fall short of doing ALLAH justice.
TRANSLATE
غرتنا الدنيا ومفاتنها ووسوس لنا الشيطان وأضلنا	We have been following the temptations of this world and satan has misguided us.
وأسأنا التعامل مع عظمة خالقنا ونعمه وكرمه ونسينا أو تناسينا يوم الحساب. يقول الله عزَّ وجلَّ :"... وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَذُو مَغۡفِرَةٍ۬ لِّلنَّاسِ عَلَىٰ ظُلۡمِهِمۡ‌ۖ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَشَدِيدُ ٱلۡعِقَابِ) سورة الرعد:6)	We have greatly underestimated ALLAH and his majesty and have become heedless to his favours and blessings upon us. “Verily, your Lord is full of Forgiveness for mankind inspite of their wrong-doing. And verily, your Lord is (also) Severe in punishment. ”
نسينا أو تناسينا يوم الحساب. يقول الله تعالى : "حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا مَا جَآءُوهَا شَہِدَ عَلَيۡہِمۡ سَمۡعُهُمۡ وَأَبۡصَـٰرُهُمۡ وَجُلُودُهُم بِمَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ (٢٠) وَقَالُواْ لِجُلُودِهِمۡ لِمَ شَهِدتُّمۡ عَلَيۡنَا‌ۖ قَالُوٓاْ أَنطَقَنَا ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنطَقَ كُلَّ شَىۡءٍ۬ وَهُوَ خَلَقَكُمۡ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ۬ وَإِلَيۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ (٢١) وَمَا كُنتُمۡ تَسۡتَتِرُونَ أَن يَشۡہَدَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ سَمۡعُكُمۡ وَلَآ أَبۡصَـٰرُكُمۡ وَلَا جُلُودُكُمۡ وَلَـٰكِن ظَنَنتُمۡ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَعۡلَمُ كَثِيرً۬ا مِّمَّا تَعۡمَلُونَ (٢٢)" ( سورة فصلت:02-22)	We have forgotten that there will be a day of recompense and that all our faculties and our organs will no longer be subservient to us but will be testify for or against us. Till, when they reach it (Hell-fire), their hearing (ears) and their eyes, and their skins will testify against them as to what they used to do. (20) And they will say to their skins, "Why do you testify against us?" They will say: "Allâh has caused us to speak," — He causes all things to speak, and He created you the first time, and to Him you are made to return." (21) And you have not been hiding yourselves (in the world), lest your ears, and your eyes, and your skins should testify against you, but you thought that Allâh knew not much of what you were doing. (22)
ذات الأعضاء التى استخدمناها فى معصية الخالق تستنكر ردىء صنعنا وتستحي من خالقها وقد ظننا أنها ملكنا- تقف فى صفنا- وتخضع لإرادتنا، ولكن سبحان الله- مازالت تسبح لله وتشهد ضدنا يوم الحساب.	Those very organs that we used in committing sins descredit us and are ashamed of their creator. We once thought that they are out property but on the day of judgement we will know that they were only put in our custody and they will not remain ours forever.
TRANSLATE
هو الرحمن الرحيم.. وباب التوبة إليه مفتوحٌ على مصراعيه لمن ابتغاه وسعى إليه.	ALLAH is the most beneficent and Merciful and to door to repentance is wide open for those who seek repentance.
إخوة الإسلام فى الحديث الصحيح" الكيس من دان نفسه وعمل لما بعد الموت والعاجز من اتبع نفسه هواها وتمنى على الله"	Brothers and sisters in the prophet says in a hadith ” The Prophet (ﷺ)said, "A wise man is the one who calls himself to account (and refrains from doing evil deeds) and does noble deeds to benefit him after death; and the foolish person is the one who subdues himself to his temptations and desires and seeks from Allah the fulfillment of his vain desires".”
نعم إخوة الإسلام- الكيس والذكي من عمل لآخرته ولم يعص الله. وليس بذكىٍّ من يعصي الله ويخالف أمره.	Yes brother and sisters, It is who plans for his afterlife is the one who is smart and will attain success
إخوة الإسلام- توبوا الى الله توبةً نصوحاً وأطيعوه ولا تعصوه وسبحوه بقلوبكم وأفئدتكم فها هو رب العزة المجيد يخاطبنا فى حديثٍ قدسىٍّ: "... ومن تقرب إلى شبرا ؛ تقربت إليه ذراعا ، ومن تقرب إلي ذراعا ؛ تقربت إليه باعا ، وإذا أقبل إلي يمشي أقبلت إليه أهرول" (متفق عليه) وفى رواية الترمذى عن أنس رضي الله عنه قال : سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول : قال الله تعالى : "يا ابن آدم ، إنك ما دعوتني ورجوتني غفرت لك على ما كان منك ولا أبالي ، يا ابن آدم ، لو بلغت ذنوبك عنان السماء ، ثم استغفرتني غفرت لك ولا أبالي ، يا ابن آدم ، إنك لو أتيتني بقراب الأرض خطايا ، ثم لقيتني لا تشرك بي شيئا لأتيتك بقرابها مغفرة" رواه الترمذي ، وقال : حديث حسن	Oh muslims make sincere repentance to ALLAH and obey his commands and avoid his disobedience for he is a most generous and forgiving lord. ALLAH says in a hadith Qudsi: “He who comes closer to Me one span, I come closer to him a cubit; and he who comes closer to Me a cubit, I come closer to him a fathom; and if he comes to Me walking, I come to him running". And in another hadith Qudsi: O son of Adam! I shall go on forgiving you so long as you pray to Me and aspire for My forgiveness whatever may be your sins. O son of Adam! I do not care even if your sins should pile up to the sky and should you beg pardon of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Adam! If you come to Me with an earthful of sins and meet Me, not associating anything with Me in worship, I will certainly grant you as much pardon as will fill the earth."

البر لا يبلى و الذنب لا ينسى و الديان لا يموت اعمل ما شئت فكما تدين تدان واستغفر الله العظيم لي ولكم فاستغفروه انه هو الغفور الرحيم

Wa aqim el salah.
